Local Music Now Available for Downloading through Jefferson Parish Library’s Website

What’s your idea of musical heaven? If you pine for Jazz Fest 24/7/365, check out the Jefferson Parish Library e-Media Catalog. Just click on the Download Digital Media icon on the library’s site at www.jefferson.lib.la.us and pick Music from the list on the left. There you’ll find our new Blues, Jazz, and R&B offerings, including classics such as Professor Longhair, Clifton Chenier, Koko Taylor and Marcia Ball. Discover new artists as well, like Eric Lindell, and Kenny Neal.

These, along with audio books— including bestsellers, added monthly— e-books and even videos are available to anyone with a valid Jefferson Parish Library card.. If you have a NOPL card, your card is good with us, too. Your device or home computer must play copy-protected Windows Media Audio files. See http://www.overdrive.com/resources/drc/ for a list of what’s compatible.

You can even come to East Bank Regional Library and use the library’s bandwidth for fast downloads. An easy-to-use wizard steps you through the transfer process to your mp3 player, pocket PC or some cell phones. iPods are not compatible at this time. Pick up to ten titles for your 21 day listening pleasure. Material that’s downloaded by the customer simply expires when it’s due. It doesn’t have to be returned to the library or checked in, so no “Overdue Blues” for you.
